The Patient Services Representative (PSR) serves as the primary point of contact for patients and represents the company in a professional and compassionate manner. This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and maintaining strict adherence to established procedures and safety standards. The PSR ensures a positive patient experience by creating an atmosphere of trust, explaining procedures clearly, and performing all tasks with accuracy, confidentiality, and care.
The PSR may work in various settings, including doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other assigned locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily tasks accurately, safely, and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Create a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for patients.

Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection, including venipuncture, following established protocols.

Collect high-quality blood samples from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing with strict attention to accuracy and labeling requirements.

Verify patient identity, demographics, and signatures to ensure correct specimen labeling.

Maintain all required records, logs, and documentation.

Communicate clearly with patients, peers, and supervisors while maintaining confidentiality.

Demonstrate strong customer focus and uphold organizational values and leadership behaviors.

Support multiple locations as needed and respond to schedule changes with minimal notice.

Promote a positive and professional company image to patients, clients, and the public.
Job Requirements

2–3 years of phlebotomy or patient services experience required.

Ability to produce accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatrics and geriatrics.

Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as needed.

Reliable transportation (bus, Uber, and rideshare do not qualify).

Must be punctual, maintain excellent attendance, and complete full scheduled shifts.

Ability to follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and dress code requirements.

Strong judgment and decision-making skills within established procedures.

Ability to adapt quickly to changes and handle multiple priorities.

Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient satisfaction and teamwork.

Must be able to travel to multiple locations for coverage and training based on business needs.

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Clean driving record and valid driver’s license may be required depending on the assignment.
