Job Title: EMT Paramedic
Location: Luling, Louisiana, 70070
Duration: 8+ Weeks (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Day Shift 12 Hours
Schedule: 36 Hours per Week
Required Skills & Experience
-
Experience working with and maintaining confidential information.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
-
2 years of current experience as a registered EMT/A or EMT-1.

Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
-
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.

Proficiency with Windows-style applications and various role-specific software packages.

Good interpersonal skills.
Education
-
Completion of a formal training program.
-
High school diploma or equivalent Required.
Licensure & Certifications
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required (American Heart Association).
-
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required (American Heart Association).
-
Current registration with the National and Louisiana Registry of EMTs as an EMT/B Required.

Current Class D license by the Louisiana DHH/EMS Required.

Valid license and registration (must remain current at all times).

Current Defensive Driving Certification Required.
-
Fit Test Required.
-
Flu Vaccine Required.
-
TB Test Required.
-
License Verification Required.
-
National EMT Registration Required.
Job Summary
-
Conducts systematic clinical assessments upon arrival at scene, referring hospital, or Emergency Department admission.
-
Incorporates patient and family in the care process through effective communication.
-
Initiates treatment per departmental protocols within Product of National Registry certification.
-
Transports patients safely to appropriate medical facilities.
-
Ensures aseptic technique during all patient care procedures.
-
Identifies and corrects errors in co-workers patient care through direct communication.
-
Supervises individuals at the scene (police, fire personnel, bystanders, other EMTs, etc.) with sound judgment.
-
Provides and documents daily duties, patient care, and hospital charges.
-
Follows safety requirements and reports incidents within 24 hours.

Maintains annual regulatory and clinical compliance (in-service, CPR, TB, etc.).
-
Adapts behavior and communication to patient population needs.
-
Complies with all federal, state, and local laws, accreditation, and regulatory standards.

Upholds organizational compliance, privacy, and safety programs.
Physical & Environmental Demands
-
Very Heavy Work: Exerting over 100 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs frequently, or over 20 lbs constantly.
-
Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, squat, crawl, and lift using proper technique or assistive devices.
-
Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials.
-
Works directly with patients and may encounter hazardous medications or waste.

Must be able to travel between facilities.
