Job Title: Phlebotomist III - Floater
Job Location: Neptune, NJ
Job Duration: 4 Months of contract
Shift: Monday- Friday 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM (EST)
Pay range: $25.74/hr. on W2
Position Summary:
The Patient Services Representative III (PSR III) serves as the face of the company, interacting directly with patients seeking routine care or important health insights. This role is responsible for performing high-quality blood specimen collection and preparation for laboratory testing, while ensuring accuracy, safety, and adherence to established procedures. The PSR III fosters a professional and compassionate environment, building trust and confidence with patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary collections in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
- Verify patient identity and demographic information prior to specimen collection.
- Obtain patient confirmation and signature to ensure specimen labeling accuracy.
- Maintain proper documentation and required records.
- Support both clinical and forensic specimen collection as needed.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Deliver excellent patient care while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public.
- Adapt to assignments across multiple locations, including patient service centers and physician offices.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as needed.
- Willingness to travel and cover multiple locations with short notice.
- Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable).
- Commitment to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; required in certain states)
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric and geriatric collections)
- At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center (preferred)
- Customer service experience (retail or service environment preferred)
- Basic computer and data entry skills
