Respiratory Therapist

Shift: 6:30 AM 7:00 PM (3)

Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and various medical gas therapies to patients. Responsibilities include performing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in both Intensive Care and General Practice Units.
The therapist maintains clinical expertise for departmental assignments across various business units, communicates effectively with all members of the care team, and documents all aspects of patient care accurately.
Additional duties include supervising, directing, and delegating tasks to Respiratory Therapists, orientees, externs, and students, as assigned. Ensures completion of necessary and accurate patient billing information.

Required:

• Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program

Preferred:

• Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Therapy

• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care

• Current Michigan Respiratory Therapist License

• BLS Certification

Required:

• Minimum of two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience

• Unit Assignment: Adult ICU or Neonatal ICU (one unit only)

• Required Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills

• Facility Size: 500 patients

• Note: ICU clinicians with only long-term care experience will not qualify

• Hours per Week: 40
