Job Summary
Operates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human body for diagnostic purposes.
Key Responsibilities
-
Perform MRI examinations according to departmental policies and protocols.

Prepare and position patients and equipment (e.g., coils, monitoring devices) to optimize image quality.

Conduct quality control tests on MRI equipment and report discrepancies promptly.

Collect and evaluate relevant examination and screening information from scheduling, patients, and referring physicians.

Maintain accurate departmental and patient records in compliance with policy.

Provide responsive and compassionate patient care; clearly explain procedures and address questions professionally.

Ensure safety procedures are followed for all patients, staff, and visitors, including strict screening for metal objects or contraindicated implants.

Evaluate image results for quality and completeness, and send images to PACS; verify exam data in a timely manner.

Develop and maintain proficiency in PACS operations and MRI system capabilities.

Accurately document procedures, charge information, and supply usage.

Seek clarification when unsure of a protocol or policy.

Exercise independent judgment in technical decisions within a complex professional environment.

Collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare staff.
Required Skills & Experience

0 6 months of direct MRI experience (minimum experience level acceptable).

Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.

Education
Required:

Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program OR

Completion of an MRI-accredited program

ARRT-R (Registered Radiologic Technologist) OR ARMRIT (Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist)

Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association
