Phlebotomist II
Job Location: Raleigh NC
Job Duration: 4-5 months of Contract + Extension/temp to hire
Shift: Mon-Fri 8-1
Position Overview:
The PSR II is the face of the company to patients, responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing. This role involves direct patient interaction, ensuring an atmosphere of trust and professionalism. The PSR II must demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and uphold patient confidentiality.
Primary Responsibilities:

Draw blood specimens from patients in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.

Verify patient demographic information and ensure accurate labeling of samples.

Maintain documentation and required records accurately.

Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.

Promote a safe and professional work environment.

Create a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Communicate procedures clearly to patients and provide a reassuring experience.

Perform front-of-house (FOH) duties and phlebotomy as needed.
Work Environment & Supervision:

Reports to the area supervisor.

May be assigned to a doctor's office, Patient Service Center (PSC), or other locations as business needs dictate.

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Job Requirements:
Skills & Abilities:

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

High accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

Ability to handle multiple priorities independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Adaptability to change and process improvements.

Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.

Education:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience:

Required: Minimum 3 years phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
