Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Job Location: Chula Vista, CA
Job Duration: 7 months of contract with possible extension / Temp to Hire
3rd Shift: Mon - Fri 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM (PST).
Pay Rate: $22 - $27.20/hr. on W2
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients. This includes individuals visiting as part of their health routine or seeking insights into important health decisions. The PSR I is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures. The role requires direct patient interaction and the ability to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence. The PSR I must explain procedures clearly and perform blood collection in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and professionalism at all times.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as required.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent: Required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training: Preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification: Preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of experience: Required.
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience: Preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment: Preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry skills: Required.
