Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Project Manager, Manager, or Director, the Epic Security Analyst formulates and designs the Epic systems security framework based on user needs and a strong understanding of Epic software structures, including profiles, roles, menus, and security classes. This role bridges technical and business stakeholders to provide efficient, standardized, and secure solutions.

Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Project Manager, Manager, or Director, the Epic Security Analyst formulates and designs the Epic systems security framework based on user needs and a strong understanding of Epic software structures, including profiles, roles, menus, and security classes. This role bridges technical and business stakeholders to provide efficient, standardized, and secure solutions.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in one or more Epic applications for users, owners, and administrators.
- Stay current on new Epic security functionalities.
- Coordinate security activities across physical, infrastructure, and application teams.
- Make access decisions with application coordinators/analysts and design system-level access.
- Establish ownership, change delegation guidelines, and ensure system access is limited to authorized staff.
- Secure remote access and ensure regular password changes; establish OS-level passwords where appropriate.
- Create and maintain security classifications and menus within Epic.
- Develop procedures for new user login authorization, passwords, and training.
- Implement procedures for inactivating users no longer authorized.
- Create test scenarios and plans to verify client requirements are incorporated into system design.
- Participate in technical reviews and inspections to confirm changes meet project intent.
- Provide support and escalation response to production issues, including root cause analysis and resolution.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7 years of applicable work experience.
- Experience on at least two major Epic implementations or upgrades.
- Must have experience using basic SQL commands.
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
- Must meet core customer service standards: Communication, Ownership, Understanding, Motivation, Sensitivity, Excellence, Teamwork, Respect.
- Self-directed, flexible, committed to teamwork, initiative-driven, open to learning, and respectful of diversity.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- 5 years of healthcare experience preferred.
- Unix experience.
- Previous Epic implementation experience.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
