Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I - 1st Shift
Location: Buffalo, MN
Duration: 4 months
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am-430pm
Pay rate: $24/hr on W2
Position Summary
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, representing the organization with professionalism and compassion. This role is responsible for collecting quality blood specimens, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and patient comfort while following established procedures. The PSR I fosters an atmosphere of trust and confidence while demonstrating strong organizational and leadership behaviors.
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily specimen collection and processing activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established practices and procedures.

Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing with confidence and accuracy.

Explain procedures to patients clearly while ensuring a safe, skillful, and accurate blood draw experience.

Maintain required records and documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment at all times.

Demonstrate sensitivity to patient confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.
Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience Requirements
-
Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience required.
-
One (1) or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
