Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Plantation, FL
Duration: 4+ Months (with possibility of extension)
Shift Timings:
- Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Saturday: 6:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing high-quality specimen collection services to patients. This role involves direct patient interaction, requiring professionalism, empathy, and precision. The PSR I is responsible for collecting blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and ensuring all procedures are followed accurately and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities under the supervision of the area supervisor with accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established procedures.
- Accurately maintain records and documentation.
- Build trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort during specimen collection.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and uphold confidentiality standards.
- Promote a positive image of the company to patients, clients, and the public.
Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred)
- Required in California, Nevada, and Washington
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required)
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment (Preferred)
- Keyboard/data entry experience (Required)
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
- Reliable transportation (rideshare/bus not considered reliable)
- Punctuality and full-shift availability are mandatory
- Must reside within a 20–25 minute commute from the job site
