Job Description:
The Phlebotomist II (Patient Services Representative II) serves as the face of the organization, providing high-quality specimen collection services to patients in a professional and compassionate manner. This role involves direct patient interaction, requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and confidentiality standards
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities of the Patient Care Center with accuracy and timeliness.
- Draw quality blood samples from patients, forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties
- Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time
- Maintain a safe and professional environment
- Perform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct
- Maintains require records and documentation.
- Demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general.
- Perform daily tasks accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Collect both forensic and clinical specimens confidently and skillfully following established procedures.
- Prepare specimens for lab testing and maintain required documentation and records.
- Provide a safe, clean, and professional environment at all times.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service and professionalism to patients, clients, and team members.
- Promote a positive image of the company and demonstrate strong organizational commitment.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required); medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred); phlebotomy certification (preferred and required in CA, NV, WA).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections; 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Skills: Strong phlebotomy technique, data entry proficiency, ability to work independently, and excellent interpersonal communication.
