Job Title: Phlebotomist III – Float
Location: East Brunswick, NJ
Duration: 3–4 Months
The Phlebotomist III – Float represents the face of the company to patients, whether they are undergoing routine health tests or life-defining diagnostics. This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing them for laboratory testing, while strictly adhering to established protocols and safety standards. The position requires coverage at multiple locations, performing multiple roles, with a focus on maintaining high standards of professionalism, patient care, and process excellence.

- Coverage hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (8-hour shift - Flexible)
The Phlebotomist III – Float represents the face of the company to patients, whether they are undergoing routine health tests or life-defining diagnostics. This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing them for laboratory testing, while strictly adhering to established protocols and safety standards. The position requires coverage at multiple locations, performing multiple roles, with a focus on maintaining high standards of professionalism, patient care, and process excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw quality blood samples from patients in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures.
- Create a trustworthy and comfortable environment for patients by clearly explaining procedures and showing professionalism.
- Provide float coverage across multiple sites, including:
- Patient Service Centers (PSC)
- In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP)
- Mobile units
- Long-Term Care facilities
- House calls
- Ensure all daily operations are completed accurately and on time.
- Serve as a leader on-site: oversee and mentor one or more Patient Service Representatives (PSRs).
- Act as a coach, mentor, and trainer for new employees.
- Provide effective onboarding support for new clients.
- Act as a point of contact for staff and communicate updates to the group lead or supervisor.
- Work closely with clients who have high-volume or complex needs, requiring advanced phlebotomy and customer service skills.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including:
- Sales
- Laboratory Testing Services
- IT Connectivity
- Billing
- Logistics
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient data and test results.
- Handle multiple priorities in high-volume environments.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
