Phlebotomist II
Location: Houston, TX, 77024
Shift: 8 am to 5 pm
Duration: 2 Months (Possible Extension/ Temp to Hire)
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional service and care to patients during specimen collection. The PSR II performs venipuncture, capillary, and other specimen collections in a professional, safe, and accurate manner while ensuring patient comfort and trust. This role supports laboratory operations by accurately labeling, processing, and preparing specimens for testing in accordance with established procedures and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing duties accurately and efficiently under the supervision of the area supervisor.

Collect blood and other specimens for laboratory testing using proper techniques, ensuring patient safety and specimen integrity.

Verify patient identification and labeling of specimens in the patient’s presence to ensure accuracy.

Maintain detailed records, logs, and documentation of specimen collection and processing activities.

Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills while maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment.

Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, providers, and coworkers by demonstrating empathy, communication, and professionalism.

Uphold confidentiality and compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Support the company’s mission and values by promoting a positive and professional image in all interactions.

Travel to assigned Patient Service Centers (PSC) or in-office phlebotomy locations as needed to provide coverage.

Flexibly adjust work schedule to accommodate business needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime when required.
Required Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required).

Training: Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.

Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Experience Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of professional phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center or similar clinical environment preferred.

Previous experience in customer service, healthcare, or retail environments strongly preferred.

Proficient with computer systems and data entry/keyboard operations.
