Phlebotomist I
Location: Massapequa Park NY
Duration: 3 Months+ (Possibilities of Extension)
State of Credentials Licenses Required:New York Phlebotomy Certificate
Shift/Time Zone:Alternating week schedule A schedule: M-F 8am-3:30pm, Sat 6am-12pm B schedule: M-F 7am-3:30pm
PayRange: $21/hr on W2
Position Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of our organization, providing vital support to patients during routine visits and in moments requiring critical health insights. The PSR I is responsible for skillfully collecting quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards. This role requires a high level of patient interaction, demanding professionalism, compassion, and confidence in every step of the process.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily operations accurately and efficiently under the guidance of the area supervisor.

Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment at all times.

Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.

Accurately maintain all required documentation and records.

Foster trust with patients by explaining procedures clearly and providing compassionate care.

Uphold organizational values, demonstrating leadership behaviors and promoting a positive image to patients, clients, team members, and the public.
Requirements:
Education & Certification:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical training preferred (e.g., Medical Assistant or Paramedic).

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Experience:
-
Minimum 6 months of relevant experience required.

1+ years of phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.

Prior customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service setting is a plus.

Must possess proficient keyboarding and data entry skills.
Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to perform high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.

Comfortable using a straight needle (non-butterfly).

Flexible availability, including the ability to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.

Strong focus on confidentiality, accuracy, and patient-centered service.
