Job Title: Phlebotomist II – Float
Location: Plantation, FL 33322
Duration: 6 months + extension
Shift Time: Monday- Friday 6:00am-4:00pm, Saturday rotation 6:30am-11:30am
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is responsible for providing excellent patient care by performing blood draws and specimen collection in a safe, accurate, and professional manner. This role involves direct interaction with patients, creating a welcoming and trusting environment, and ensuring all specimens are properly prepared for laboratory testing. The PSR II may work in a patient service center, doctor’s office, or multiple locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture, capillary, forensic, pediatric, and geriatric blood collections following established procedures
Verify patient identity and ensure specimens are correctly labeled in the patient’s presence
Explain procedures clearly to patients and provide a positive customer experience
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and confidentiality of patient information
Ensure a safe, clean, and professional work environment
Work independently while meeting productivity and quality standards
Assist at multiple locations as a floater when required and arrive on time for all assigned shifts
Collaborate with supervisors and team members and escalate issues as needed
Perform administrative tasks related to specimen processing and data entry
Job Requirements:
Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to make decisions using established procedures and sound judgment
Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (required for floaters)
Willingness to travel between multiple sites with minimal notice
Education & Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (preferred)
Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA)
Experience:
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience (required), including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Experience in a Patient Service Center (preferred)
Strong customer service background (preferred)
Basic computer and data entry skills
Additional Notes:
Training location may vary based on trainer availability
Floaters may submit mileage for reimbursement between work sites (not from home)
Reliability, punctuality, and attendance are critical; excessive tardiness or absenteeism is not tolerated
