Job Title: Phlebotomist II - Float
Job Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316
Job Duration: 4+ months (high chance of extension)
Shift hours: Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm with Rotational Saturdays
Job Description:
- Draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
- Have direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner.
- Demonstrate leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information.
- Performs with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- Demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public in general.
- Must be able to have a positive attitude and teamwork and be able to multitask under pressure.
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
- Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations and required to cover at Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.
- Must demonstrate Superior Customer Focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors and patients; ability to accelerate and embrace change; and knowledge of our business.
- Minimum 3 years’ phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
- Floaters travel in between multiple sites and are expected to be on time at whatever site they are covering for that day. They must also have a clean driving record.
- Mileage can be submitted for expense reimbursement between sites and not from home.
- Candidate must have reliable transportation to get to/from worksite without issue (bus, Uber, rideshare is not reliable transportation). Must be available to work whenever scheduled, BE ON TIME, and stay for the entire shift. Excessive absenteeism/tardiness is not tolerated and will be cause for termination.
