Accountant

An opportunity exists for a results-oriented professional to be a member within the accounting function of the Bohemia finance team. This role is located in Bohemia, NY reporting into the Senior Finance Manager. The role requires accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of large ERP software systems including a solid understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliancy principles with the ability to articulate to senior leadership. The main focus will be to support the A/P and A/R functions of the business with the General Accounting functions utilizing fundamental accounting theories and concepts. Primary Responsibilities:

 

Assist with daily journal entries and account reconciliations.

The daily tasks include but are not limited to: Process invoices received via physical mail, email, and web portals, Assist with billing and invoicing, Handle credit/re-bill transactions and conduct necessary investigations, Review purchase orders pending matches and enter receipts as required, Monitor and manage unbilled revenue files, ensuring overdue items remain under 90 days.

Contribute to the preparation of the reporting packages, taking advantage of opportunities to improve usefulness and efficiency.

 

Ad-hoc reports and projects as assigned by the Finance Manager.

 

Required Skills:  1-3 years of experience (internship experience counts)

•             Experience with ERP systems at a G/L level

o             Entering invoices into accounting systems, learning the system and understanding the impacts of entries.

•             Ability to work independently; self-motivated; high bias for action.

•             Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP concepts with proven technical accounting skills.

•             Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
