ENTRY Phlebotomist I
Job Title: ENTRY Phlebotomist I
Location: Ocala, FL
Duration: 3+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Job Summary:
The ENTRY Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the welcoming face of the organization, providing compassionate and professional service to patients. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals passionate about healthcare and eager to learn Phlebotomy skills. The PSR I will assist with patient check-ins, maintain the waiting area, and support Phlebotomy operations during breaks or downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients upon arrival and assist with check-in using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets.
- Provide empathetic and informative responses to patient inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional waiting area.
- Support Phlebotomy staff during breaks and learn Phlebotomy procedures.
- Once trained, perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.
- Ensure accurate documentation and uphold patient confidentiality.
- Demonstrate commitment to organizational values and a positive public image.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- 1–2 years of client-facing customer service experience (Required)
(Retail, Home Health Aide, Hospitality, etc.) - No prior Phlebotomy experience required.
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency is essential.
Skills & Attributes:
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and perform Phlebotomy duties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Reliable transportation (rideshare/bus not considered reliable).
- Punctuality and full-shift availability are mandatory.
Additional Information:
- Candidates must reside within a 20–25 minute commute from the Ocala, FL site.
- This is a Front of House role with a clear path to Phlebotomy training.
- Do not apply if unwilling to learn or perform Phlebotomy duties.
- Excessive tardiness or absenteeism will result in termination.
