Phlebotomist III - Floater
Duartion: 3 months
Location: Staunton VA
Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am-5:00pm and rotational weekends
Job Summary:
The PSR III serves as the face of the company, interacting directly with patients during routine visits or critical health decisions. This role involves drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and ensuring adherence to established procedures. The PSR III creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence, skillfully explaining procedures and drawing blood safely and accurately. This position requires leadership behavior, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in handling patient information. Assignments may vary between doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily tasks accurately and punctually under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, professional, and compliant work environment.

Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to protocols.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signatures post-venipuncture to confirm correct tube labeling.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients to provide superior customer service.

Adapt to changes and accelerate process improvements within the workflow.
Job Requirements:

Deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Exhibit excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime based on staffing needs.

Adhere strictly to company policies including dress code, health & safety, and guiding principles.

Exercise sound judgment and decision-making based on established procedures.

Have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).

Willingness to travel and work flexible hours covering multiple locations with minimal notice.

Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
-
At least 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
