Job Title: Ingot Maker
Location: Wilmington, NC
Duration: 12 months, possible extension

Schedule:
  • 40 hours per week
  • Training Shifts: Monday - Friday; Nights (~11pm to 6am)
  • Post Training Schedule: Regular Rotating RTSU Shift
  • OT maybe required
  • Shift will vary depending on ingot output requirements and other project support

Job Description:
Define Basic Job:
  • Support the manufacture and assembly of Submarine Ingots
  • Primary responsibility will be to operate a flame lathe
  • Perform other support activates related to Submarine Manufacturing.

Job Obligations / Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture ultra-low loss ingots by operating the KPSC flame-lathe
  • Inspect incoming parts for quality assurance
  • Support experimental wareflow in OR and OV
  • Perform York/Empire/Cairo measurements
  • Perform PCVA/iCVA/Client measurements for process expts
  • Perform screening and measurements in the Submarine area
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate manufacturing and development needs

Required Skills:
  • Individual must be self-directed, detail oriented & passionate about safety in the workplace.
  • Independent & efficient
  • Ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks as necessary
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good judgement
  • No active discipline

Desired Skills:
  • Glass making experience using a hand torch
  • Currently trained flame room operators or previously trained flame room operators or ingot makers.
