Phlebotomist III - Floater
Job Location: Chicago IL
Job Duration: 3-4 months
Shift: Mon - Fri 10am - 6pm
Pay Range - $25/hr - $28/hr on W2
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative III (PSR III) serves as the face of the company, providing exceptional service to patients while collecting and preparing specimens for laboratory testing. The PSR III performs venipuncture and capillary collections with precision, ensuring patient comfort and specimen integrity. This role requires professionalism, accuracy, and the ability to create a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily specimen collection and processing duties accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.

Collect quality blood samples from patients of all ages (including pediatric and geriatric) using proper venipuncture and capillary techniques.

Verify patient identification and ensure all specimens are properly labeled and documented in the patient’s presence.

Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment in compliance with company health and safety policies.

Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, ensuring a comfortable and trusting experience.

Accurately record and maintain required documentation and records.

Exhibit leadership behaviors and promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and coworkers.

Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA and company standards.

Perform forensic and clinical specimen collections in accordance with established protocols.

Float between multiple locations (doctor’s offices, patient service centers, etc.) based on business needs.
Job Requirements:

Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Strong phlebotomy skills with demonstrated experience in pediatric and geriatric collections.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining professionalism.

Flexible and available for variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients.

Must exercise sound judgment and follow established procedures when making decisions.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (as applicable).

Ability to travel to multiple locations and adapt to changing business needs with minimal notice.

Proficiency in data entry, documentation, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Education & Experience:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
