Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Edmond OK, 73013
Duration: 3 Months 
Shift/Time Zone: Monday -Friday 8am-5pm.


Position Summary

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients and represents the company with professionalism and empathy. This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring all procedures follow established standards. The PSR II creates a supportive and trustworthy environment for patients while demonstrating strong communication, accuracy, and leadership behaviors. Work locations may include doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other sites based on business needs.




Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily tasks accurately, safely, and on schedule under the direction of the area supervisor.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all times.

  • Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection, including venipuncture and capillary collections, following all established procedures.

  • Verify patient identity and demographics; obtain patient initials and signatures to confirm labels are correct and applied in their presence.

  • Document all required information accurately and maintain complete, compliant records.

  • Deliver excellent customer service and promote a positive, professional image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, dress code, and safety guidelines.

  • Support multiple locations as needed, including short-notice coverage for Patient Service Centers or in-office phlebotomy sites.

  • Prioritize tasks effectively in a high-volume environment and make sound decisions based on established protocols.




Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong ability to produce accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

  • Superior customer service focus, with clear, transparent communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and support process improvements.

  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

  • Basic computer and data entry skills.




Schedule & Availability

  • Flexible availability required, including weekends, holidays, overtime, on-call assignments, and travel to multiple locations.

  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.




Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).




Work Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center preferred.

  • Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.

  • Experience with keyboarding/data entry required.
