Pharmacy Tech I - Prior Authorization

Training

1000 am - 630 CST Mon - Friday for 5 weeks

Please make sure they do not have any planned time off during training.



Shifts:

Monday to Friday 11am - 11pm CST (multiple shifts, client will determine shifts after training, candidates can bid on their preferred shift); Saturday to Sunday 8am - 11pm CST (multiple shifts) Working hours will be 8 hour shifts within the timeframes above.

Preference for time zone is PST



This position takes in-coming calls from members, providers, etc providing professional Client



The Tech I Prior Auth takes in-bound calls from providers, pharmacies, members, etc providing professional and courteous phone assistance to all callers through the criteria based prior authorization process. Maintains complete, timely and accurate documentation of reviews. Transfers all clinical questions, escalations and judgement calls to the pharmacist team.



The Tech I will also assist with other duties as needed to include but not limited to: outbound calls, reviewing and processing Prior Auth s received via fax and ePA, monitoring and responding to inquiries via department mailboxes and other duties as assigned by the leadership team.



Must ensure the potential new hire understands:



They must understand they cannot be the primary caregiver to anyone in their home during scheduled work hours

They are required to provide their own high speed internet.

Minimal home broadband connectivity speed of 25 mb download and 3 mb upload speed. Speed for home internet can be confirmed by going to www.speedtest.net.

They must have sufficient/private work area that is used for business during their work hours.

Their current living accommodations are in a stable situation.

Ensure employee is aware of the Teleworker Privacy Practices they need to abide by.

Must take steps to ensure that work area is secure and protects *** property and confidential information from inadvertent or unauthorized access or theft including:

Equipment and information are secure from inadvertent and/or unauthorized access or theft at all times.

Workspace is dedicated to *** business during working hours and is not accessible by others who may be present in the household; telephone conversations cannot be overheard, and documents/computer screens cannot be viewed by others.

When not working, the computer is shut off. For short departures from the work area, the workstation must be locked or computer shut down.

Experience:



Minimum (1) year experience required in a customer service position with high volume call center atmosphere; preferably in healthcare, social services, or a similar service position.

If they have worked in a pharmacy before this translate over well.

Preference is candidates with prior work from home experience.



Education:



Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.

Preferred: pharmacy tech license in good standing but not required
