Phlebotomist III - Floater
Job Location: Thornton CO
Duration: 3 - 4 Months
Shift: M-F 7am -6pm (Varies)
Pay range: $28/hr on W2
Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative III – Floater (PSR III) serves as the face of our company for patients seeking routine health services or critical diagnostic information. The PSR III is responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while adhering to established procedures. This role requires direct interaction with patients and the ability to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures and performing venipunctures skillfully, safely, and accurately.
The PSR III demonstrates leadership behaviors, a commitment to process excellence, and a strong sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy in handling patient information. Successful candidates may be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center, or other locations as business needs dictate.
Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR III performs daily activities accurately and on time while maintaining a safe and professional environment. Responsibilities include forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, following all established procedures. The PSR III verifies patient demographic information and obtains patient initials/signatures after venipuncture to confirm that specimens are labeled in the patient’s presence and that all information is correct. The role also includes maintaining required documentation and promoting a positive organizational image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Ability to provide accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Flexibility to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime.

Ability to make sound decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Willingness to travel, work flexible hours, and cover multiple locations with minimal notice.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Demonstrated superior customer focus and strong communication skills with peers, supervisors, and patients.

Ability to adapt to and embrace change; understanding of business operations.
Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent.

Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience
-
Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

At least two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience required.
