Title: Computational Scientist - Research Oncology
Location: Mississauga, ON
Duration: 12 Months
The ideal candidate will:
Conduct in-depth, statistically rigorous analyses of diverse NGS datasets (bulk and scRNA-seq) to produce meaningful biological insights.
Utilize Client's computational pipelines for end-to-end analysis of both established and new high-throughput assays.
Work with cross-departmental teams including both experimental and computational biologists.
Required Skills and Experience:
PhD in bioinformatics, genomics, or computational biology
Good communication skills, including in data visualization, and a strong interest in exploring biological questions.
Experience analyzing high-throughput data (bulk and scRNA-seq).
High-level proficiency in R programming language and Bioconductor packages.
Strong understanding of experimental design.
Strong computational and analytical skills.
Experience working in Linux-based server environments.
Good data science practices and understanding of statistics and data complexity.
A plus, but not essential:
Experience in analyzing and working with CRISPR screens and ChIP-seq/ATAC-seq.
Familiarity with public genomic databases (ENCODE, TCGA, GEO, ArrayExpress).
Familiarity with or interest in immunology.
Note: The Hiring team is looking for resumes with more in-depth single-cell experience (and ideally with some immunology background). Resumes should all include at least some publications or a github.
