Location: Byhalia, MS
Duration: 6 Months (Contract)
Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM)
Role Overview:
The Maintenance Tech I is responsible for delivering high-level maintenance support across all equipment at the Memphis Global Logistics Center. This includes performing preventive maintenance (PMs), troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires collaboration with operations, engineering, and quality teams, while also providing assistance to senior technicians.

Role Overview:
The Maintenance Tech I is responsible for delivering high-level maintenance support across all equipment at the Memphis Global Logistics Center. This includes performing preventive maintenance (PMs), troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires collaboration with operations, engineering, and quality teams, while also providing assistance to senior technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Monitor manufacturing lines and proactively address potential issues to reduce downtime.
- Rebuild and maintain machine assemblies, ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Review PM schedules, ensure parts availability, and complete tasks on time.
- Log equipment issues, breakdowns, and alarms in the CMMS (Proteus) system.
- Assist in work order creation and maintenance documentation.
- Provide technical support and training to less experienced technicians.
- Collaborate with engineering and lead technicians to resolve complex equipment problems.
- Operate and troubleshoot robotic equipment in normal production modes.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, quality systems (6S), and company standards including the Code of Conduct.
- Complete all required training with 100% compliance.
- Support energy management, conservation, and sustainability efforts.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
- Experience with CMMS systems (Maximo or Proteus preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 100 lbs periodically, walking, and navigating the facility.
