Financial Administrative Support
Job Title: Financial Administrative Support
Pay Range: $29.41 to $36.76/hr.
Duration: 5 Months
Role Overview:
The Financial Administrative Support role involves assisting with financial tasks and project planning, supporting end-of-year close processes, and ensuring accurate expense tracking. The position will require working closely with unit leaders and staff, processing vendor setups, and assisting with the budgeting process for the new fiscal year.
Key Responsibilities:

Weekly Meetings: Meet with the unit leader and job incumbent on a weekly basis in May and June to discuss project spending plans, including grants, and year-end expenditure preparations for the upcoming close.

End-of-Year Close: Complete the financial year-end close process to ensure all records are finalized and accurate.

Expense Approvals: Approve monthly staff expenses, ensuring that correct accounts are used for credit card transactions.

Vendor and Purchase Orders: Support the setup of new vendors and process purchase orders in Oracle.

Budget Submission: Submit the unit's budget for the new fiscal year if it cannot be completed before the incumbent's leave begins.
Qualifications & Skills:

Education: College degree in a related field.

Experience: Progressively responsible administrative experience, particularly in academic institutions and with grants.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Oracle, Microsoft Office, and other relevant computer applications.

Self-Starter: Ability to work independently in a complex environment with minimal supervision.

Business Acumen: Familiarity with general business practices and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Communication: Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
