Phlebotomist II - Float
Job Title: Phlebotomist II – Float
Location: Naples, FL
Duration: 6 months +, temp to hire position
Schedule:
- Hours per Week: 40
- Days: Weekdays
- Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Rotational Saturdays: 6:30 AM – 11:00 AM
- Flexibility Required: Available between 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM for same-day site coverage
Position Overview:
The Phlebotomist II – Float (Patient Services Representative II) serves as the front-line representative for patients visiting for routine or diagnostic lab testing. This position requires the ability to draw quality blood samples, ensure accurate specimen labeling and handling, and travel reliably between various local sites. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and adaptability while delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood specimens through venipuncture and capillary techniques, including pediatric and geriatric draws
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory analysis according to established protocols
- Create a positive and reassuring patient experience through clear communication and professional care
- Verify and document patient demographics and specimen labels accurately and in the patient’s presence
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Travel to and provide coverage at multiple assigned locations on short notice
- Comply with health, safety, confidentiality, and quality assurance policies
- Project a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and coworkers
- Adhere to company policies, including dress code and core service standards
Requirements:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, and WA)
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric patients (Required)
- At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (Preferred)
- Customer service experience in a healthcare or retail setting (Preferred)
- Data entry and keyboard proficiency
Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent phlebotomy and specimen collection skills
- Ability to manage high-volume workflow independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and patient-centered service
- Flexible with schedule and able to adapt to changing site needs
- Demonstrates professional conduct and teamwork
Additional Requirements:
- Reliable personal transportation required (ride-share, public transit not accepted)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (Required)
- Eligible for mileage reimbursement for inter-site travel
- Must report punctually to any assigned site
Work Environment:
This float role supports multiple phlebotomy service locations within the Naples, FL area. Candidates must be comfortable traveling locally, sometimes with minimal notice. Training sites may vary.
