Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Crestview, FL
Duration: 4+ Months (with possibility of extension)
Shift:
- Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Central Time)
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Position Summary
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization by providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the accurate collection and processing of blood specimens. This role requires exceptional technical skill, professionalism, and the ability to build trust with patients while maintaining strict adherence to established procedures. The PSR I upholds confidentiality, demonstrates process excellence, and contributes to a positive, safe, and service-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily duties accurately and on schedule under the guidance of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Confidently perform clinical and forensic specimen collection following all established protocols.
- Prepare, label, and process blood samples for laboratory testing.
- Provide excellent patient interaction by explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort.
- Maintain all required documentation, logs, and records accurately.
- Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and represent the organization professionally to patients, visitors, and team members.
Job Requirements
- Ability to deliver quality, errorfree work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime based on staffing needs.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent — Required
- Medical training preferred (e.g., Medical Assistant, Paramedic).
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA).
Work Experience
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience — Required
- 1+ years phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Prior customer service experience in retail or service industry preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry skills required.
Additional Requirements
- Must list home city and commute time to job site on résumé.
- Pay rate is determined by years of direct experience; overlapping roles do not count twice.
- Reliable personal transportation required (bus, Uber, rideshare is not acceptable).
- Must be punctual, available for all scheduled shifts, and able to work the full duration of each shift.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will lead to termination.
- Candidates should live within a 20–25 minute commute to ensure reliable travel for coverage needs.
