Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Job Location: Royal Oak, MI
Job Duration: 5 Months (possibility of extension)
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Job Summary:
- Responsible for receiving, shipping, and routing materials into and out of the Business Unit (BU), including proper documentation, data entry, and maintaining organized storage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, verify, process, and route materials to the facility and off-site locations.
- Enter receipts accurately into the Materials Management software system.
- Notify the Warehouse Manager of any discrepancies between materials and shipping documentation.
- Prepare outbound shipments with proper documentation.
- Manage the Returned Goods process per SOP guidelines.
- Deliver stock to appropriate staging areas for departments.
- Store warehoused items in designated areas and rotate stock according to receipt and expiration dates.
- Identify short-dated materials (<30 days shelf life) and report to the Warehouse Manager.
- Assist with cycle counts and full physical inventories.
- Follow all applicable policies, including Materials Management, Human Resources, Employee Health & Safety, Compliance, OSHA, and CLIA.
- Analyze current procedures and recommend process improvements.
- Assist with order entry, picking, packing, and delivery of internal and external orders.
- Support record storage and retrieval, as well as mail preparation and distribution.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum six months of materials management experience preferred.
- Data entry experience preferred.
- High-volume receiving experience preferred.
Skills & Requirements:
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Good record-keeping and organizational abilities.
- Ability to operate a computer, printer, and barcode scanner.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) or equivalent.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50–70 lbs as needed.
- Ability to operate materials handling equipment as required (forklift, pallet jack).
- Client credentialing, MVR, and Michigan state search required for onboarding.
