Location/locations: Dearborn Hospital 18101 Oakwood Blvd Dearborn MI 48124
Shift Time: Day
Hours: 6:30a-5p
Shift length: 10hrs
Weekend rotation: every other
On Call: yes
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, ARRT( RCIS, RCES, or R),
Scrub Color: Royal Blue
•Must have scrubbing experience. On call nights, weekends and holidays are required (split evenly with all staff)
Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.
Essential Functions
Monitor patients undergoing routine invasive, interventional procedures. Provide intra-procedural technical support and quality patient/family centered care.
May be required to perform and record hemodynamic/physiologic wave forms and calculations.
Communicate effectively with co-workers, physicians, patients, families, and all ancillary departments while consistently demonstrating the Beaumont Standards.
Perform quality assurance checks on technical equipment. Perform department skills validations.
Maintain radiation safety standards for staff and patients in compliance with the Beaumont Radiation Safety Department.
Required to take On Call per department schedule.
IR Special Procedure Techs must be able to 1st assist physicians using sterile technique, and fully participate in 3D imaging, vascular, and cerebral cases if performed at the site.
Cath Lab Special Procedure Techs, if performed at the site, must be able to utilize IVUS, FFR, OCT, ICE, EKOS.
EP Lab Special Procedure Techs, if performed at the site, must be able to utilize ICE, participate in device Implants, and circulate in all other EP cases.
Qualifications
Required Associate's Degree or equivalent in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, training and/or education.
Required Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
Required Cath Lab/EP Lab requires employee to be a graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program
Clinical experience required through graduation of one of the above listed programs. Required
2 years of relevant experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR. Required
CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist IR, Cath Lab Upon Hire required
CRT-Cardiovascular (CV) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist IR 2 Yrs required Or
CRT-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist IR 2 Yrs required
CRT-Reg Card Elect Specialist (RCES) - CCINT'L Cardiovascular Credentialing International Cath Lab, EP Upon Hire required Or
CRT-Reg Card Inter Specialist (RCIS) - CCINT'L Cardiovascular Credentialing International Cath Lab, EP Upon Hire required
CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Cath Lab, EP 180 Days required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC client Upon Hire required
