Job Title: Receiving Forklift Operator
Job Location: Indianapolis, IN 46219
Duration: 4 months (temp-to-hire)
Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 pm
Pay Rate: $17.50/hr. on W2
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for shipping, receiving, and routing materials into and out of the Business Unit. This role ensures accurate documentation, proper inventory handling, and timely data entry in the materials management system.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, verify, process, and route all materials into the facility and remote sites. Enter all receipts into the materials management system.
- Compare received goods with shipping documentation. Report any discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.
- Prepare outbound shipments, including all required documentation.
- Manage the returned goods process according to standard operating procedures.
- Deliver stock to designated staging areas for departments.
- Store items in assigned warehouse locations. Rotate stock based on receipt dates and expiration dates.
- Identify short-dated materials (less than 30 days shelf life). Report to the Warehouse Manager for further action.
- Assist in cycle counts and full physical inventory.
- Comply with all applicable policies, including safety, compliance, and operational procedures.
- Analyze current processes and recommend improvements to the Warehouse Manager.
- Assist with order entry, picking, packing, and delivery of internal and external orders.
- Support record storage and retrieval processes.
- Assist in handling internal, inbound, and external mail.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Minimum six months of materials management or warehouse experience.
Basic data entry experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong record-keeping ability.
- Ability to operate a computer, printer, and barcode scanner.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds.
- Ability to operate materials handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
