Job Location: Atlanta, GA
Job Duration: 5 Months of contract
Shift: Monday- Friday 8:00 am - 5:00pm
Pay range: $21.69/hr. on W2
Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, representing the organization with professionalism and care. This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, accurate, and comfortable experience for patients.
The PSR II plays a key role in building trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures and performing specimen collection with precision and compassion. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to established protocols, and a commitment to patient confidentiality and service excellence. Assignments may include working in a physician’s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and in a timely manner under the supervision of the area supervisor
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
- Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures
- Verify patient identity and demographic information prior to specimen collection
- Obtain patient acknowledgment/signature to confirm proper labeling of specimens
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public
- Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and leadership behaviors
Job Requirements
- Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts
- Adherence to all company policies, including dress code and safety standards
- Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable)
- Willingness to travel and work across multiple locations with minimal notice
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
- Excellent communication skills with patients, peers, and supervisors
- Adaptability and openness to change
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred)
- Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in certain states)
Work Experience
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (required)
- Experience in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred)
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (highly preferred)
- Basic keyboard and data entry skills
