Job Location: Arcadia, CA 91007
Job Duration: 5 Months (Possible Extension)
Shift: Monday- Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Rotating Saturdays 8 am - 12:30 pm
Payrate: $22.00 - $27.20/hr. on W2
Position Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the company to patients visiting for routine health screenings or important medical decisions. This role is responsible for collecting quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while following established procedures and safety standards.
The PSR I interacts directly with patients, fostering an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and performing specimen collection in a safe, accurate, and professional manner. The position emphasizes leadership behaviors, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in handling patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities accurately and within established timelines under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of required records.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and professionalism at all times.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred).
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience required.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Data entry experience required.
