You will work multi-functionally with Project Managers, Process, Quality, Automation and Controls, and Industrial Engineers. Key partners and stakeholders include Tooling, Operations, Maintenance, Materials, Planning, and Safety teams. People appreciate your hands on approach to learning and ability to balance multiple projects.

We re looking for a Design Engineer who will join a team of engineers responsible for commercializing and manufacturing CLIENT Air products.
This role works cross-functionally on a wide variety of projects from developing new products, processes, and materials to improving manufacturing efficiencies on our existing product portfolio.
The candidate should be adaptable, curious, solutions oriented, inclusive and respectful. The candidate will utilize their skills in 3D design and engineering, leverage their past experience and that of teammates as a basis for solving problems along with identifying creative solution paths. The candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity, flexible to changing priorities, and a self-starter.

What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or other related degree or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
- 5+ years experience in the field of mechanical design and engineering, and/or product design, engineering and tooling design of plastic consumer products
- Proficiency in NX CAD software is required
- Experience using PDM software, preferably Teamcenter, and in-depth understanding of revision control
- Ability to handle multiple competing projects simultaneously
- Possess a detailed and methodical approach to problem-solving
- Ability to analyse complex problems, develop innovative solutions and deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities is required
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with teammates from other functions and at all levels
- Knowledge or experience in thermoforming is a plus
- Knowledge or experience in high volume manufacturing a plus
- Some lifting of tooling, parts and various equipment (up to 50lb)
- Ability to work onsite at our Air Manufacturing Innovation Facility in Beaverton, Oregon
WHAT YOU LL WORK ON
If this is you, this role will support or lead the development of new CLIENT Air products and the daily manufacturing operations required to produce them. You will be required to solve problems using the support of your teammates to implement designs and solutions.
- You will begin your day with a morning team stand up meeting to determine the day s priorities along with identifying tasks in the future in collaboration with your cross-functional teammates.
- You will spend roughly 65% of your time on these prioritized project work, followed by 25% on improving our existing product portfolio and finally, 10% on creative exploration and functional initiatives .
- You ll use concept sketches, 3D design software, engineering and/or machine design knowledge and ideas, and hands on experience to design, refine and carefully document tooling designs and machine components.
- You ll work with designers, developers, engineers and tooling centers to develop solutions and designs that take into account the manufacturability of both the final product as well as your tooling designs.
- You ll use various methods of communication to assure key stakeholders are informed of your progress on projects.
- At times you will collaborate with internal customers, external vendors, and global teams to ensure your designs meet the needs of each project you are involved on.
- You ll stay up to date on the critical skills required for your job through on-site training, conferences, or other functions which enable you to maintain a high level of performance.
