Medical Lab Technician
Shift Details

Schedule: 58 rotation

Shift Timing: 10:30 PM 7:00 AM

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Under direct supervision of the laboratory technologist, team leader, and/or supervisor, and in accordance with defined protocols, performs selected laboratory procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens. These procedures may involve manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and laboratory information systems. May also perform phlebotomy duties as required.

Required:

Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science

Certification & Licensure
Required:

Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA)
Preferred:

Skills & Experience
Required:
-
Minimum 23 years of previous experience in a similar laboratory role

Strong technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge to perform laboratory functions
-
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and healthcare professionals
-
Experience working with laboratory instruments and information systems
Preferred:
-
Experience with Client laboratory equipment (AU system preferred)

Experience with Sunquest LIS
-
Automation experience
