Overview:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, providing an essential role in collecting blood samples and preparing them for laboratory testing. In this position, you will contribute to life-defining health decisions by creating an atmosphere of trust and professionalism. You will demonstrate leadership behaviors and maintain confidentiality while ensuring accurate patient data and high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:

Blood Collection & Processing:
-
Perform accurate blood draws, including venipuncture and capillary collections, for pediatric, geriatric, and adult patients.

Ensure that specimens are handled and processed following established guidelines and procedures.

Patient Interaction & Customer Service:

Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients and address their concerns.

Maintain a positive, professional atmosphere to foster trust and confidence.

Documentation & Verification:

Verify patient demographic information, including initials and signature post-venipuncture.

Ensure that specimens are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence and documentation is accurate.

Maintain a clean, safe work environment by adhering to company policies, health & safety guidelines, and confidentiality standards.

Collaborate with supervisors and peers to maintain an efficient workflow and ensure timely patient care.

Flexibility & Mobility:

Work at multiple locations as needed based on business needs, including Patient Service Centers and In-Office Phlebotomy sites.

Travel and work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Qualifications & Requirements:
-
Education & Certification:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).

Experience:
-
Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
-
At least 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

Experience in customer service, preferably in retail or service environments.

Keyboard/data entry experience is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:
-
Excellent phlebotomy skills, with the ability to work independently and maintain high-quality standards.

Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

Superior customer focus with the ability to communicate openly with patients, peers, and supervisors.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, with the ability to travel to multiple locations within a 20-25 minute commute window
