Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Jacksonville, FL 32258
Duration: 5-6 months (Possibilities of Extension)
Shift Time: M - F 6:30 am - 12:30 pm with mandatory Saturday rotation: 6:30 am - 12:30 pm

Job Description:
The Phlebotomist I is responsible for providing excellent patient care while performing accurate and safe blood draws and specimen processing. This role involves direct patient interaction, explaining procedures, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring compliance with established laboratory protocols. The Phlebotomist I supports daily operations by maintaining accurate records, working efficiently, and promoting a professional and positive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection (clinical and forensic) following standard procedures

• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing

• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records

• Provide professional, compassionate patient care

• Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant work environment

• Complete daily tasks accurately and on time under supervisor direction

Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (1+ year preferred)

• Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Data entry and basic computer skills required

• Flexible schedule availability (including weekends and holidays)

Education & Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)

• Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (preferred)

• Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA)
