Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner
Location: Milwaukee, WI 
Duration: 3 Months+ with possibilities of extension 

Shift Time: Day shift (6:00 AM to 6:30 PM) for 3 shifts per week 

 
Job Description:
  • A Respiratory Care Practitioner performs designated respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures in accordance with established department and hospital policies, focusing on the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.
  • Key responsibilities include administering therapeutic treatments and diagnostic testing using medical gases and equipment, providing ventilatory support and managing life support systems, administering medications to the cardiopulmonary system, facilitating bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises, educating patients, and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
  • These procedures are conducted in both critical care and non-critical care settings for patients of all ages, ensuring that all job duties are performed in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the healthcare system.
 
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in both general and critical care settings is required. 
  • New graduates must obtain the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential within 6 months of hire.
 
Certifications & Licenses:
  • Current State of Wisconsin License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) 
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) 
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) 
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire 
  • Preferred: Membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and Wisconsin Society for Respiratory Care (WSRC).
 
Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program is required.
