Lab Assistant - 3rd shift

Job Description: Laboratory Assistant (Medical Lab)
Location: Marlborough, MA
Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Duration: 3 months
Pay range: $23/hr. on W2

Summary:
Support daily laboratory operations by performing routine tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Assist lab professionals in specimen handling, preparation, and workflow management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, sort, and process specimens
• Centrifuge, label, store, and retrieve samples
• Prepare reagents, media, and test samples
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and record data (e.g., temperature logs)
• Assist with sample prep (aliquoting, slide preparation, clot checks)
• Maintain cleanliness and decontaminate work areas
• Dispose of biohazard materials and follow PPE/safety protocols
• Manage pending lists and locate missing samples
• Maintain records and perform QA/QC tasks
• Use laboratory computer systems and basic PC operations

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (medical/lab training preferred)
• Basic math and science knowledge
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills
• Ability to follow procedures accurately and retain information
• Good communication and teamwork skills
