Job Title: IT Software Developer 1
Location: Johnson City, TN – Hybrid
Duration: 12 months+ (Possible Extension)


Contract:
  • 1 Year (Possibility of Extension)
  • 9AM to 5PM
  • Onsite / Hybrid
 
Notes from Supplier Call (1/14):
  • Software Production Team.
  • Need of testing assistance on the Team.
  • Possibility of conversion if a value to the team and a goal if available.
  • Ideal candidate has a BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering with some experience that satisfies an entry-level position. Consideration given to candidates directly out of school or close to obtaining their degree.
  • 40 hours a week with flexibility, ideal for students.
  • Ideally someone local enough to the office to spend time onsite, especially during learning and training phases, and available for important group meetings periodically.
  • Team members are also international. No travel involved.
  • Work based on needs of the team; not limited to one task. Time management is important as priorities change and shift. Flexibility in work environment required.
  • Basic programming knowledge required; C# is an absolute advantage. Baseline skill set so training can be provided.
  • Testing Tools are created in-house and are not commercially available; based on C#.
  • Methodology experience is valued, but training on tools will be provided. Experience with tools is a big plus.
  • Automation Portal: primary tool used by customers to program/debug/commission PLC devices in a factory setting.
  • Valued qualities in a tester: open mind, independent worker, curiosity, personal drive to learn and get things done once productive.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and demonstrate interpersonal skills.
  • Interviews: Initial Teams phone interview, followed by a panel interview via TEAMS including technical and testing experts in round-robin format.
  • Ready to make an offer and have person start ASAP.
 
Position Overview:
  • Primary responsibility: implement and test solutions on a Windows-based C# desktop application.
  • Work in an Agile/Lean software development process.
  • Collaborate in a team environment with other software developers and testers, both locally and internationally.
  • Work assignments are directed based on current team and project needs.
 
Required Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
  • Programming experience in C# is required.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in C# programming language and willingness to learn more.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred, but active students pursuing a degree will be considered.
 
Work Environment:
  • 40-hour per week contract position reporting to the office in Johnson City, TN.
  • On-site work is preferred, but partial or fully remote work can be discussed based on candidate qualifications.
