IT Network Engineer III

Job Description

Location: Hybrid (preferred) 1 day/week onsite. Prefer candidates within 1 hour of Charlotte, NC or Client, NY.

Schedule:
MondayFriday, 8am5pm. Overtime possible. Some flexibility may be required due to collaboration with global teams.




Travel Requirement

  • Potential travel up to 30%, may include international destinations (higher during critical projects)

  • Typical: ~25% domestic, <5% international (or none)




Product of Position

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Network Engineer to support our team. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize innovative network solutions while providing technical expertise across a diverse range of networking technologies and platforms.

You will act as a subject matter expert supporting key initiatives, with deep knowledge of SD-WAN, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies (Arista and Cisco), wireless networks (particularly MIST), and automation using Ansible and APIs for Infrastructure as Code. Experience in OT manufacturing environments is a strong plus.




Responsibilities

  • Network Architecture & Deployment
    Design and implement advanced network solutions for complex routing and switching environments using Arista, Cisco, and MIST platforms, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

  • Routing & Switching Expertise
    Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise-grade routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and switching technologies to ensure resilient and efficient performance.

  • Wireless Network Engineering
    Architect and manage wireless infrastructure with a focus on MIST-based solutions, ensuring high availability and seamless user experience.

  • Network Automation & Scripting
    Develop and maintain automation workflows using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and RESTful APIs to enhance scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Partner with cross-functional teams to align network strategies with business goals and contribute in dynamic global environments.

  • Documentation & Standards Compliance
    Maintain comprehensive documentation for network designs, configurations, and SOPs while ensuring adherence to industry standards and governance policies.

  • Technology Evaluation & Innovation
    Assess emerging technologies, tools, and vendors to improve network performance, automation, and security posture.

  • Professional Development & Certification
    Stay current with industry certifications and trends to maintain technical leadership and support team growth.

  • Operational Support
    Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support and ensure network reliability.




Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology (minimum)

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, Arista Product L5, or equivalent preferred

  • Arista certifications and MIST qualifications are a strong plus




Required Skills

  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities

  • Proven ability to lead and contribute to cross-functional teams in global environments

  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in fast-paced settings

  • Deep understanding of enterprise networking technologies including LAN and SD-WAN

  • Advanced proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and switching technologies

  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco and Arista platforms (configuration and optimization)

  • Strong expertise in designing and managing wireless networks

  • Advanced skills in network automation using Ansible, Python, and RESTful APIs

  • Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools




Desired Skills

  • Hands-on experience with MIST wireless solutions (design, deployment, optimization)

  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid environments

  • Proficiency with Arista in data center and campus environments

  • Financial acumen for budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor negotiations

  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
