- Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Saturday: 6:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Job Description
The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the welcoming face of the organization to patients visiting for routine health assessments or critical diagnostic testing. This role is responsible for drawing highquality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis while adhering to established protocols, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
The Phlebotomist I engages directly with patients, creating a professional, trustworthy, and supportive experience by clearly explaining procedures and performing venipuncture with accuracy and care. This position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily assigned tasks accurately and promptly under the direction of the Area Supervisor.
- Establish and maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment at all times.
- Confidently perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing, following standard procedures.
- Accurately maintain all required records, logs, and documentation.
- Uphold strong organizational values and represent the company positively to patients, clients, colleagues, and the general public.
- Provide excellent patient care while ensuring accuracy in specimen labeling, handling, and data entry.
- Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Ensure adherence to all safety, compliance, and confidentiality regulations.
Job Requirements
- Ability to perform quality, errorfree work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal onsite supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
- Flexible availability to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, oncall duties, and overtime when required.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to create a positive patient experience.
- Reliable transportation (personal vehicle only — public transport, Uber, or rideshare is not considered reliable).
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to complete the full scheduled shift consistently.
- Candidates must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the Sunrise, FL worksite.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
- Medical training preferred (Medical Assistant, Paramedic, etc.)
Work Experience
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience — REQUIRED
- 1+ year phlebotomy experience preferred
- Previous experience in customer service (retail or service industry) preferred
- Keyboarding and data entry experience required
Additional Notes
- Pay rate will be determined based on years of direct experience (nonoverlapping experience only).
- Excessive tardiness or absenteeism will result in termination.
