Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and prepare specimens for testing Conduct basic lab tasks (e.g., centrifugation, aliquoting, labeling, inoculation)
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and QC checks Prepare reagents and media
- Maintain specimen storage and retrieve as needed
- Use lab computer systems to manage data
- Follow safety protocols and PPE requirements
- Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazard waste
- Assist with inventory (e.g., gas cylinder changes, reagent prep)
- Support documentation and filing of lab records
- Complete required training and competency checklists
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Medical Assistant training a plus)
- Basic science/math knowledge preferred
- No prior experience required
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and retain information
- Team-oriented with respectful communication skills
