Phlebotomist II
Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Fairfax, VA
Duration: 3 Months+
Shift/Time Zone: Mon – Fri 8:30 am - 1:30 pm
Position Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company, interacting directly with patients for routine health checks and critical medical testing. The PSR II is responsible for drawing high-quality blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory analysis, and maintaining a safe, professional, and trustworthy environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily tasks accurately and timely under the direction of the area supervisor.

Draw blood specimens from patients skillfully, safely, and accurately.

Verify patient demographic information, initials, and signatures post-venipuncture.

Label specimens in the patient’s presence and ensure label accuracy.

Maintain required records and documentation.
-
Process both forensic and clinical specimens following established procedures.

Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the general public.

Ensure a safe and professional environment at all times.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence.

Uphold confidentiality and accuracy in handling patient information.
Job Requirements:

Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Exhibit excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

Commitment to company policies, dress code, and safety guidelines.

Ability to make informed decisions using established procedures and good judgment.

Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Willing to travel and work at multiple locations, often with minimal notice.

Capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.

Strong customer focus, transparent communication, adaptability to change, and business understanding.
Education & Certification:
-
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Preferred: Medical assistant or paramedic training.
-
Phlebotomy Certification:
-
Preferred for most locations.
-
Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience:
-
Required: Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections).

Preferred:
-
At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment.

Customer service experience in retail or service industry.
-
Keyboarding and data entry skills.
-
