Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides advanced-level respiratory care to patients to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary conditions under physician orders. This role also serves as a resource for CRT staff and may participate in clinical projects or departmental initiatives.

Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides advanced-level respiratory care to patients to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary conditions under physician orders. This role also serves as a resource for CRT staff and may participate in clinical projects or departmental initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic respiratory procedures per protocol
- Obtain arterial blood gases and manage respiratory equipment effectively
- Initiate respiratory protocols and interventions based on patient assessment
- Administer medications safely and evaluate patient responses
- Communicate patient status and progress with physicians, nurses, and care teams
- Monitor patient conditions and recommend appropriate care adjustments
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care and self-management techniques
- Maintain accurate documentation and productivity records
- Monitor equipment and supply levels, report issues promptly
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Identify workflow improvements and potential safety hazards
- Contribute to team meetings and departmental development
- Act as a mentor, resource, and consultant to staff
- Support research and quality initiatives in respiratory care
- Float to other departments as needed based on competency
- Participate in on-call rotations if required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – NBRC
- Active state license (CO) as a Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) & ACLS – AHA certification
- 1+ years of experience in Respiratory Therapy,
- Patient care and patient education
- Life support and care planning
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
- Knowledge of patient care delivery systems
- Documentation and reporting accuracy
- Adherence to protocols and procedures
- Quality improvement awareness
