Project Manager – Utilities & Construction Projects
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide full project management oversight throughout the lifecycle: initiation, scoping, design, permitting, construction, and close-out.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance) and external parties (regulators, municipalities, customers) to resolve design, permitting, and construction issues.
- Ensure project delivery aligns with budget, schedule, and performance goals, including both project-specific and organizational targets.
- Use project controls tools to manage and forecast project budgets and schedules, perform variance analysis, and track performance.
- Maintain and update project documentation, schedules, and status reports.
- Promote and enforce a safety-conscious work environment, following all Edison safety protocols and best practices.
- Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned, including status presentations and risk assessments.
Required Skills & Attributes:
- 7+ years of experience in project management or related project support roles.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-disciplinary utility or infrastructure projects.
- Experience with Primavera P6 or similar project scheduling tools.
- Ability to work independently, managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail in reporting, cost tracking, and schedule updates.
- Skilled at maintaining accurate and up-to-date logs, files, and project records.
- Ability to perform risk assessments, analyze trends, and create actionable project insights.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to integrate work across departments.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent.
- Experience in the utilities, energy, engineering, or substation infrastructure sectors.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle documentation, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance.
