Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Coral Springs, FL (Must reside within a 20–25-minute commute)
Duration: 5 months +, temp-to-hire
Hours/Week: 40
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Saturday rotation at AGUU site in Plantation: 6:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Time Zone: Eastern
Position Summary:
The Phlebotomist I serves as the front-line representative of the organization, interacting directly with patients seeking routine or diagnostic laboratory services. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing, following established protocols and procedures. The Phlebotomist I plays a key role in ensuring a safe, professional, and compassionate patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform specimen collection and processing duties with confidence and accuracy.
- Collect blood specimens using proper techniques, including pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Ensure patient comfort and build trust during procedures.
- Accurately label, document, and prepare specimens for transport.
- Comply with all confidentiality regulations and maintain patient information security.
- Exhibit leadership behaviors and support continuous process improvement.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
- Follow supervisor direction and complete assigned tasks promptly.
Requirements:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent — Required
- Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic) — Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification — Preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience — Required
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience — Preferred
- Customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or service setting — Preferred
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency — Required
Additional Details:
- Reliable transportation is required. Rideshare, Uber, or bus is not considered dependable for regular attendance.
- Candidate must be punctual, able to stay for the full shift, and consistently available as scheduled.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
