Shift:
- Monday–Friday: 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Position Overview
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the first point of contact for patients visiting the facility for routine testing or critical diagnostic needs. This role involves collecting highquality blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and ensuring all procedures follow established safety and quality standards.
The PSR I must deliver patient-centered care, create an environment of trust, explain procedures clearly, and perform blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and consistent adherence to organizational and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assigned daily tasks accurately, efficiently, and on schedule under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all times.
- Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing in accordance with established procedures.
- Collect blood specimens using proper techniques, including pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy.
- Maintain and update all required documentation, logs, and patient records accurately.
- Provide exceptional customer service, promoting a positive and professional image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality in handling patient information.
- Support staffing needs as required, including weekends, holidays, on-call duties, and overtime.
Job Requirements
- Ability to produce accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to meet operational demands, with availability for schedule changes, extended hours, and additional coverage as needed.
- Must be punctual and reliable; excessive tardiness or absenteeism will result in termination.
- Must have reliable personal transportation (bus, Uber, or rideshare does not qualify as reliable transportation).
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent — Required
- Medical assistant or paramedic training — Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification — Preferred
- Mandatory only in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience — Required
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience — Preferred
- Customer service experience in a retail or service setting — Preferred
- Strong keyboarding and data entry skills — Required
Additional Job Details
- Candidates must list their home city and commute time on their resume.
- Acceptable commute: within 20–25 minutes of the worksite.
- Pay rate is based on years of direct phlebotomy experience as stated on the resume.
- Overlapping roles will not be counted twice.
- Must be available for all scheduled shifts and remain on-site for the full shift duration.
