Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Sunrise, FL
Duration: 4+ Months (Potential for Extension)
Shift:
- Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Saturday: 6:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing essential services to patients seeking routine health checks or critical diagnostic insights. This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, professional, and compassionate patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily tasks accurately and punctually under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment.
- Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established procedures.
- Accurately maintain records and documentation.
- Foster trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort during specimen collection.
- Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, WA)
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required)
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment (Preferred)
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency (Required)
Skills & Requirements:
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Reliable transportation (rideshare/bus not considered reliable).
- Must reside within a 20–25 minute commute from the job site.
- Punctuality and full-shift availability are mandatory; excessive tardiness or absenteeism may result in termination.
